This 25 mile waymarked walk from Grimsby to Louth goes over The Wolds and uses footpaths regularly walked by the group.

The walk begins ¼ mile south of Grimsby Hospital at the roundabout in Scartho village. It follows the roads to Oxcombe Close and then footpaths and short stretches of road walking to Barnoldby le Beck, Brigsley and then Ashby cum Fenby.

From Ashby cum Fenby the route follows good footpaths to Wold Newton where the old signpost might wrongly lull the walker into imagining this was the halfway point. The village is left behind and the route is along The Valley to Beesby.

These lovely Shetland Ponies were seen at Beesby. The Way progresses through Cadeby to Wyham with its lovely little Church.

There are splendid views from around Wyham. It is possible to break this 25 mile walk by making use of good footpaths to Ludborough.

The walk goes next over the rolling Wolds, where big Lincolnshire skies are enjoyed, bypassing North Ormsby and Utterby to arrive at North Elkington and from there to Welton Vale.

The last stretch to Louth goes through beautiful Hubbards Hills where it follows the River Lud and finally arrives at St James’ Church at the end of the day.

Thanks to a grant from 'Awards for All' we have been able to produce two separate leaflets, one detailing The Silver Lincs Way as outlined above, and the second detailing circular walks (links) which include part of The Way. The funding also enabled us to waymark the routes.

A second reprint of both leaflets in February 2007 has been possible thanks to the Lincolnshire Wolds Sustainable Development Fund.
